AND: Abandon Normal Devices
Tickets are now on sale for AND: Abandon Normal Devices, a new cross-regional festival, launching at FACT in Liverpool this September. Aside from the Big Screen commissions I've been banging on about below, I'm hoping to catch as many of the activities, screenings and special events as I can. My immediate attention is demanded by Canadian zombie thriller Pontypool (in which the act of speaking can infect others - genius!), 'theory for busy bees' documentary Examined Life (eight contemporary philosophers given ten minutes each), and outdoor projection projects Strange Attractors - The Anatomy of Dr Tulp by KMA and Krzysztof Wodiczko's War Veteran Vehicle. I highly recommend A Small Cinema and only wish I could devote five whole days to Kino Cabaret. But maybe you can!
